Ron Amstutz knows what it’s like to need help. After his son, Trevor, was diagnosed wit Guillain-Barre syndrome – a sudden autoimmune syndrome that often paralyzes its victims – in 1998, the Amstutz family spent a lot of time at Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
That’s why Amstutz, vice president and chief information officer of Desert Schools Federal Credit Union, has since raised more than $1 million in donations for the hospital and the Children’s Miracle Network, an international nonprofit agency that raises awareness of children’s hospitals.
But that’s not enough – Amstutz says he hopes to raise $1 for every credit union member annually. That’s more than $335,000 each year.
From Bowl-a-Thons to charity golf tournaments, Amstutz says he is dedicated to raising money to help children like his son.
