Yes. My father was my dentist, so it was fun to see him at work.

Do you like going to the dentist now?
Yes

What’s your favorite guilty pleasure treat?
Rocky Road ice cream

What’s your least favorite procedure to perform?
I refer impacted third molars to the oral surgeon.

I wanted to become a dentist after:
My father, Dr. Les Pospisil, retired after practicing dentistry for 37 years. He inspired me to pursue a career in dentistry.

Consistent home care and regular checkups.

Who treats your own teeth?
Two of my brothers, Brent and Doug, are dentists as well. I think they flip a coin when I have to get in the chair!

Why do dentists always get bad raps in movies, e.g., Steve Martin in Little Shop of Horrors?
Do they? Actually, I can’t recall a “dentist movie,” but I have seen the Bill Cosby comedy routine and I love it!

If you could have anyone portray you in a movie about your career, who would it be?
Kirk Douglas. My parents almost named me after him.
