Football season has officially started, and it’s time to up your snacking game. Trent Averhoff, assistant general manager of Dave & Buster’s at Tempe Marketplace, offers a suggestion for an easy, crowd-pleasing appetizer that you can whip up at home. And everyone loves tater tots, he says. “Tater tots call to your inner child.” He makes a good point.

You can pop frozen tater tots in the oven and watch the game at home, or you can stop into the nearest Dave & Busters for the deep-fried version. Oh, and they also have games, billiards and bowling. You make the call.

Dave & Busters Lotsa Loaded Tater Tots

55 frozen tater tots
¼ tsp. garlic pepper seasoning
2 oz. queso sauce
1 tsp. bacon bits
1 tsp. green onions, chopped
2 oz. sriracha ketchup (combine ketchup and sriracha sauce to taste)

Follow package directions to cook tater tots until golden brown. Season with garlic pepper mixture. Drizzle queso sauce and sprinkle warm bacon bits over the tots. Garnish with green onions and serve with sriracha ketchup.
