Pirouette Into Fall with a Free Ballet Under the Stars Performance

Have you ever wanted to check out a ballet performance, but aren’t ready to shell out the dough for tickets? Don’t get me wrong – performing arts groups need paying patrons, but Ballet Arizona has been making it possible for Valley residents to get a taste of arabeques and pirouettes for free over the past 18 years in order to foster an appreciation of ballet as an art form.

balletazThis year, Ballet Arizona kicks off its 2016-2017 season with five free presentations of “Ballet Under the Stars” Sept. 22-30 at various venues across the Valley.

Be sure to bring a blanket or lawn chair (and snack) and then settle in under the autumn sky for an evening of dance complete with costumes and lighting.

All performances begin at 7 p.m. at these locations:

Thursday, September 22 at Estrella Lakeside Amphitheater, 10300 S. Estrella Parkway, Goodyear

Friday, September 23 at Fountain Park, 12925 N. Saguaro Blvd., Fountain Hills

Saturday, September 24 at Steele Indian School Park, 300 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix

Thursday, September 29 at Tempe Center for the Arts Amphitheater, 700 W. Rio Salado Parkway, Tempe

Friday, September 30 at Beardsley Park, 20011 N. 128th Ave., Sun City West
