The latest opening in Old Town Scottsdale is Ellure Lounge, and with it, the owners are promising to bring back Old Town’s club-tastic heyday. In a press release for the grand opening launch party this weekend, owner Chris Sprow claims, “Old Town has lost its reputation as the world-class leader for high-end entertainment. Ellure promises to deliver just that.” Sprow, the former director of marketing for Scottsdale nightclub SIX, which closed its doors in 2009, says the vision in designing Ellure “was to bring class back” to the area.

Managing partner Aaron Stanton says the demographic currently dominating the neighborhood is “mostly early 20s” whereas Ellure hopes to draw in “the working professional– anywhere from age 25 to age 70.” “This is a more upscale martini lounge, not somewhere you go to get a half-priced beer,” he says. No baseball hats, shorts or football jerseys here, please.

It’s also customizable in that furniture can be brought in or rearranged, lighting can be customized, media can be streamed on the televisions, and even the artwork can be swapped.

The lounge, located on Stetson kitty-corner from Wasted Grain, is decorated in classic lounge ware from sleek wood floors to deep leather booths and a whole lot of mood lighting. And while the place is designed for those seeking “intimate conversations,” Stanton says there will also be room for dancing with DJs spinning “anything from the latest top 40 to rock ‘n’ roll to hip hop” 7 nights a week. For special events and big parties such as those tied to the Waste Management Phoenix Open and the NCAA Final Four, they’ll bring in big name DJs from New York, LA and Las Vegas, Stanton says.

For the grand opening party this Friday and Saturday, NYC DJ Sean Perry will be spinning following a ribbon cutting at 8 p.m.
