Draw your own conclusion about the acronymic meaning of O.H.S.O. Brewery + Distillery’s new D.I.C.K. peach whiskey.

Brewery + Distillery’s new D.I.C.K. peach-flavored hooch ($25) might be the exception.

Distillers Jeff Smith and Greg Arias – who also engineered O.H.S.O.’s lovely line of infused vodkas – start with a blend of pre-distilled aged and un-aged bourbon that O.H.S.O. buys in bulk. To achieve the flavor profile, the distillers add house-made nutmeg distillate and peach extract that has the exact ratio of sugar found in a real peach. The end result is a smooth and sweet peach-forward whiskey – sans cinnamon – that sizzles on the way down, but results in a happy glow. “We wanted to make a whiskey that people could shoot,” Smith says.

About that name: One of the O.H.S.O. boys thought it up after spotting a bottle of water with a person’s name scrawled on it. “It was Harry or Tom’s water,” Smith says, leaving one obvious option. Government officials refused to sanction the name DICK (draw your own conclusion), so periods were added. The acronym still doesn’t have a meaning, but O.H.S.O. customers are welcome to throw out suggestions. Maybe: “Does It Contain Kryptonite?”
