Never Enough SugarOdds were good that Cassie Weisz would become an entrepreneur in the culinary field. She grew up surrounded by kitchen playthings. Her mom owns the long-running, whimsical kitchen playground Two Plates Full, which is filled with artisanal items for the kitchen and dining room, and Weisz didn’t fall far from the tree. She started Never Enough Sugar, an online, boutique bakery, even before she graduated from The Art Institute of Phoenix’s baking and pastry program in 2010.

These days, the Valley’s high priestess of sugar spends her days filling custom cake orders and baking cookies, cupcakes, muffins and scones for a number of restaurants and coffee shops, including Lola’s at The Yard and Chestnut Lane.

She also bakes a surprisingly healthy – and relatively low in sugar – granola, which she stocks for take-home at all three Valley Original Chop Shop restaurant locations ($6/$9). The granola contains cinnamon and chia seeds for energy, flax meal, wheat germ, dried cranberries, and of course, whole oats. The only sweetener is honey and Weisz uses hearty-healthy olive oil to bind it all together.

So go ahead and order her luscious caramel cheesecake in a jar. You can pay the piper tomorrow morning with a wholesome parfait of yogurt layered with Never Enough Sugar granola.
