1. First Friday at Phoenix Art Museum – June 2
The first Friday of every month is dedicated to the arts in the Valley, so it’s no surprise that the Phoenix Art Museum joins in the fun. The museum offers free general admission and discounted special exhibition admission. This is the first of a monthly art-centric night, happening every first Saturday at Bonus Round. The showcase will feature local artists and musicians. Stroll along Phoenix’s Japanese Garden will sampling wine and enjoying live jazz, lantern display and happy hour. Hiro Sake will be offering sake samplings throughout the garden as well. 5. Jazz Workshops: Jazz Session Etiquette at The Nash – June 4
The Nash is offering a variety of summer workshops from week-long sessions to one-time lessons that focus on a single topic. Jazz Etiquette is the only free session being offered this summer. Attendees will be able to sit in on a jazz jam session to get a feel for how things work. After getting some background information on the history of jazz, bring your instrument and voice to join a full three-hour jam session.
