1. Book of Souls Tour with Iron Maiden at Talking Stick Resort Arena – June 28
Whether you were a metal-loving teen in the ‘80s or discovered the genre in the 21st century, Iron Maiden has surely blasted forth from your speakers at some point. They have transcended the decades and continue to rock in 2017. This year’s tour is coming off their 2016 tour that reached six continents and 35 countries. 2. Kidtastic: Comic Book Drawing at Gotham City Comics – June 28
Raising a future leader of DC Comics or Marvel? Get 'em some pointers and practice from a professional comic book artist in Mesa. Kids 5 and up will be given a blank comic book along with all the supplies they need. This is part of the Kidtastic event series happening in downtown Mesa – every Tuesday and Wednesday this summer until the end of July will feature opportunities for kids to have fun. $12. 12:30-1:30 p.m. Gotham City Comics, 46 W. 3. B.Y.O.B.O. (Bring Your Own Bottle Opener) Class at SunUp Brewing Co. – June 28
Escape the heat by grabbing a cold craft beer and paintbrush as KDS Studio returns to SunUp Brewery to host an art class. After choosing one of three kinds of wood, paint a pitcher perfect image for a wall mounted bottle opener. $25. 6-8 p.m. SunUp Brewing Co., 322 E. Camelback Rd., Phoenix, sunup.beer.

4. Grand Opening Art Walk at Empire Ink Gallery – July 1
Art comes in many shapes and sizes and this art walk is going to showcase exactly that. There will be those who are skilled with a pen – tattoo artists, face painters, graphic designers – as well as those who communicate art through their actions and voice – musicians and dancers. 5. Celebrate Frida Kahlo at Burton Barr Central Library – July 2
Happy 110th birthday to Frida Kahlo! Fill in those eyebrows and pin up your hair with flowers because there’s a celebration in Downtown Phoenix for the artist’s birthday. You’ll have a chance to take a photo in front of the Frida inspired backdrop, shop handcrafted merch, make a flower crown and play a bilingual word match game. The first 10 guests to show up dressed as Frida will win a swag bag with items donated by the Phoenix Fridas Latina art collective.
