Steele Indian School Park is hosting its 32nd annual July 4th festival from 6-10 p.m. with fireworks starting at 9:30 p.m. The family event is free and there is no alcohol allowed. Entertainment includes live concerts, festival-style food and beverages, games and activities for kids and much more.

Westgate Firework Fest
It's a love fest for America 5-9:30 p.m. Tuesday at Westgate’s Entertainment District. There will be entertainment for the family, live country music, dining deals with a fireworks finale at 9 pm. FREE.

July 4th Tempe Town Lake Festival
A fly-over, live music, City of Tempe color guard performance and inflatable kiddie rides await at Tempe's celebration, 5-10:45 p.m. Fireworks start at 9:20 p.m. $5 tickets available online or at Fry's Food Stores.

Fourth of Zooly
The Phoenix Zoo is celebrating in rawr-king style with a catered BBQ dinner from 7-8:30 pm with free carousel rides, music, animals and lots more fun. Tickets are $45 for adults (13 years and older); $35 for children (3-12 years); free for children 2 years and under.

The Fourth falls on a pesky Tuesday this year but many employers are rising to the occasion and declaring Monday AND Tuesday one big holiday weekend. Take advantage of that generosity and escape to one of the many Valley resorts offering sweet staycation steals. A sampling:
