If you want to go beyond buying flowers or going out to brunch, here are five ideas your mom will probably love. And she didn’t even have to remind you.

As You Wish
Seven Valley locations
For a fun outing with mom, check out As You Wish, a pottery-painting studio with locations across the Valley. On Mother’s Day, moms get free studio fees, but you have to call ahead and make a reservation. It’s a fun, creative way to spend some time together. You can paint plates, pitchers, coffee cups, figurines and a host of other items, including holiday pieces. For adults besides mom, the cost is $8 plus the cost of whatever item you choose to paint. Kids 12 and younger cost $6 plus the cost of the pottery. Paint it and they’ll glaze and fire it for you to pick up in a couple of days.
