Ten Great Patio Wi-Fi Spots in the Valley
JoBot Coffee Shop
918 N. Fifth St.
A popular spot in the downtown Phoenix arts community, JoBot is known for its savory crepes, eye-peeling espressos, and patio populated with social media addicts and hipster workaholics on laptops. A canopy offers shade and a misting system provides relief from the heat.
The Armadillo Grill
1904 E. Camelback Rd.
Billed as “an eclectic American bar & grill,” the Armadillo offers a laid-back environment with the interior trappings of a serious sports bar (pool tables, off-track betting, and 34 big-screen TVs), contrasted with a sunny, smoker-friendly patio.
1949 W. Ray Rd.
Nestled next to a large, palm-flanked lake with a gigantic, gushing fountain, Coffee Rush’s patio provides an idyllic vibe on the corner of a strip mall in Chandler. There’s an assortment of tables, lounge chairs, and benches on the patio -- all heavily populated most weekends.
5223 N. Central Ave.
This comfortable patio hosts folks of every sort, from suburban 30somethings to lone drinkers and chain smoking artistes. The Windsor’s also known for its attractive wait staff, so expect some pleasant distractions from Facebook.
4041 N 40th St.
For those who like a more posh patio. With comfortable lounge furniture, fireplaces, heat lamps, hot food, delicious drinks (and, oh yeah, good WiFi), The Vig patio’s just about perfect – and therefore often packed.
7353 E. Scottsdale Mall
This swanky Scottsdale restaurant/dance club boasts modern décor, a full bar, hyper-attractive patrons, and a patio that’s perfect for surfing the net minus the loud conversations and pulsing bass.
Tavern On Mill
404 S. Mill Ave.
Tavern On Mill has not one, but three patios – all with free, strong WiFi signals, plus cheap drinks, a mixed college/professional crowd, and alcohol-absorbent bar grub.
10626 N 32nd St.
This inconspicuous mom-and-pop sandwich-and-coffee shop is located in a stand-alone structure in the center of a strip mall parking lot, and boasts a quaint, tree-shaded patio that’s breezy and dog-friendly.
5th and Wine
7051 E. 5th Ave.
In addition to WiFi, the covered courtyard patio at 5th and Wine boasts heaters, fresh air (the patio’s smoke-free), and a backside view of surrounding businesses and galleries. There’s live music on the patio some nights, too.
9404 W. Westgate Blvd.
You can pick up a WiFi signal at a lot of places around Westgate, but Tully’s Coffee patio is centrally located within the sports and entertainment hub, and the patio’s a perfect place to sit and surf while waiting for a concert or a game to start.
