Mary Coyle churns its own ice cream every day, using the same ingredients and recipes since it opened in 1951, and putting the flavors into other tasty creations such as homemade ice cream cake. Besides chocolate and vanilla standbys, licorice is one of the shop’s most popular ice cream flavors, says owner Tom Kelly, and the parlor is one of the only locations in Phoenix that makes it.
