Our fingers may be glued to screens from the moment our iPhone alarms wake us in the morning until our final Facebook scroll before bed, but there’s something to be said for old-school communication – the tangible romance of paper, with its warmth, weight and scent, is intoxicating even in the Digital Age. We rounded up a few of the Valley’s finest paper purveyors, who craft everything from fun greeting cards to framed paper guns.

Paper Contessa

Ali Diaconescu hand-paints her delicate paper goods, from event invitations to menus to address labels. Prices range from $2.50 per piece for wedding reception table numbers to $124 for 20 wedding invitation suites (pictured)

Studio Paperjoy

Phoenix native Lydia Butler Beaulieu’s love of nostalgia informed her Phoenix Icon collection, with Valley luminaries hand-drawn and scanned onto greeting cards ($3 each). Paper Done Proper

Paper artist Anthony Garcia creates kitschy pop-art pieces suitable for framing and displaying, from his floral “Gangsterish 9mm” to his “Cartoon Breakfast” of bacon, eggs, milk and a toaster complete with paper Pop-Tart. Prices range from $200-$1,000.
