• Stop yourself from saying, “someday,” “maybe” and “I should keep this because….” In the end, things cost us time and energy when we save them.
• Outline tools that are hooked on the flat wall in bold marker or paint. It looks cool and helps you remember where they’re supposed to go when you’re done with them.
• Storage units should be a last resort and should only be used temporarily. Otherwise, they create even more space to store things, which creates more excuses to keep things we don’t need.
Spring cleaning is easier when done one room at a time, and consultations with professional organizers can reveal which spaces are ineffective and how you can make more with what you have. Even if it’s 20 minutes a day, take small steps to focus on making a space organized and livable.
