Hotel Palomar
2 E. Jefferson St., Phoenix
480-478-1765, lustrerooftopgarden.com
This chic open-air lounge on the third-floor pool deck at Hotel Palomar in Downtown Phoenix is all about dining in style, from the cool white tables and lime green linens to cozy banquettes perched poolside. Nearly every seat offers cityscape views or a peek at South Mountain – for those moments when twilight trendsetters aren’t people-watching or dipping a toe in the water. Happy hour nibbles are ready for coupling. Spicy queso fundido finds its soulmate in Tommy’s on-tap margarita ($6 each), while upscale chicken and figs ($8) is a natural fit beside Domaine Coupage Chardonnay. Enjoy a classy duo of tomato and mozzarella ($8) with sangria or Charles & Charles red under the stars ($6 each), then wind the night down with a $6 old-fashioned or a round of $3 drafts. 3-6 p.m. M-F.
