Duck Bath Punch

When Prohibition hit in 1920, bootleggers were forced to use readily available containers to homebrew their booze – thus giving birth to the phrase “bathtub gin.” Mixologist Ross Simon of Bitter & Twisted Cocktail Parlour devised a creative twist on the theme, incorporating the juniper berry spirit into an adorable punch served in a miniature tub. “I was never a fan of gimmicks for gimmicks’ sake,” Simon says. “I just wanted to do something fun.”

The punch-inspired booze-bath starts with 6 oz. Hendrick’s gin, 2 oz. Amaro and 3/4 oz. Grand Poppy liqueur in a large bowl. Add 2 oz. pineapple syrup, 3 3/4 oz. lemon juice, and 16 oz. of chilled Earl Grey tea. Fill with crushed ice. Simon’s cucumber air bubbles are tricky to make at home, so it’s best to leave that one to the professionals at Bitter & Twisted (or Google the “fish tank air pump” technique if you’re feeling creative). Serves 4-6.
