Apples evoke childhood memories of crisp fall nights, Halloween dunking games and homemade pies. But making cider isn’t exactly child’s play. About 20 pounds of apples are required for a single gallon – not to mention the seemingly endless days spent cleaning, crushing and pressing the fruit.

Inspired by the change of seasons, Bitter & Twisted Cocktail Parlour co-owner Ross Simon crafted a crisp, cider-based cocktail that’ll warm you to the core. Start with 2 oz. of your favorite pre-made apple cider and 1 1/2 oz. ┼╗ubrówka vodka over cubed ice. Add 1/4 oz. simple syrup, 1/2 oz. lime juice and 1/4 oz. each of apple and cinnamon liqueurs. Shake and double-strain into a cocktail glass. Float a mint-studded apple slice on top and bob for it if you’re feeling nostalgic for days gone by.
