Skip n Gecko Naked

For folks who can’t decide between a frothy brew or frou-frou cocktail, the answer has arrived: beer cocktails. These combos are barreling onto on drinks lists Valleywide, hopping up already-enticing microbrews with a dose of hard alcohol. The recently renovated Iguana Mack’s in Chandler has a selection of six “Ales with Tails,” which includes stouts, lagers and others in addition to ales. One of the most popular is Skip n Gecko Naked, a light end-of-summer romp.

Bartenders fill a 16-ounce pint glass halfway with Sierra Nevada Keller Weis Hefeweizen (about 6 ounces), add ¾ ounce Cruzan Guava Rum, fill the rest of glass with Gosling’s ginger beer (about 3 ounces), and garnish with an orange wedge and umbrella toothpick. Note: Streaking is strongly discouraged on the Iguana Mack’s patio.
