Midwestern transplants to Arizona certainly don’t wax nostalgic about shoveling driveway snow, but they may miss summertime memories like fields dappled with violets, bushes heavy with blackberries, and crazy things like going outside in the daytime. Thankfully, a Midwestern expat – the Downtown Phoenix location of Province, which first earned acclaim in Chicago – serves up an eye-popping potation that distills the best of a Midwestern summer, sans mosquitoes.

In a Collins glass, Province mixologists muddle four blackberries with ½ ounce lemon juice and add 1 ounce Tito’s vodka, ½ ounce St. Germain, and ½ ounce Crème de Violette. They line the glass with a lemon twist, add ice, top with soda water, and instruct the guest to stir just before drinking.
