But the folks at monOrchid (214 E. Roosevelt St.) have thrown a creative spark into the climbing temperatures. Inspired by birds sailing effortlessly on rising pockets of hot air, called thermal columns, more than 20 local artists have contributed to the Thermal PHX exhibit in Downtown Phoenix. While many Valley galleries shut down for the summer months, monOrchid invites the community to celebrate the swelter. Open daily from 6-10 p.m. until August 30th. For more information, contact monOrchid gallery at 602-253-0339 or visit monorchid.com.
