HEAR IT: A distinctive, pencil-thin moustache isn’t the only thing Dorado Schmitt has in common with famed  musician Django Reinhardt. Both men were born in France to gypsy families, both were weaned on Roma music but drawn to jazz, and both became guitar virtuosos. Reinhardt died in 1953 – four years before Schmitt was born – but Schmitt carries on the musical legacy of his predecessor, who pioneered the gypsy-jazz genre and made it rich with acoustic guitars, accordion and violins. Schmitt leads the Django Festival All-Stars in a 7:30 p.m. concert on July 3 at the Musical Instrument Museum, 4725 E. Mayo Blvd., Scottsdale, 480-478-6000. Tickets cost $32.50-$42.50.
