If you’re thinking about getting out of Phoenix this summer, it’s time to start firming up your vacation plans. Depending on the kind of experience you’re looking for, there are plenty of deals around the Grand Canyon State. So pack up the car, load in the kids (or not, if you’re planning a romantic getaway) and hit the road. We’ve rounded up five fun resorts to check out this summer.
Amara Resort and Spa
Head up to Sedona for cooler temperatures and spend some time at Amara Resort and Spa. They’re offering two packages this summer:
Escape the Heat – Start with two welcome cocktails (when booked directly through the resort’s website) and receive a 10 percent discount if you stay Sunday through Wednesday. Complimentary resort amenities include daily coffee and tea, morning yoga, bike rental and nightly hosted social hour from 5-6 p.m. From $250 per night; available May 31-Sept. 11.
Monsoon Meditation – Guests will begin with a 90-minute Monsoon Meditation session with focused breathing and then a massage. Guests will receive a rose quartz crystal to continue their meditation after leaving the spa. The meditation and massage is $190. Packages are available Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Golf & Tennis Resort
With newly renovated pools and other outdoor amenities, Tucson’s El Conquistador is offering a couple of summer specials from May 27-Sept. 5:
Conquer the Summer – Daily programming for all ages, from solar tours, dive-in movies, poolside games and morning fitness classes. Rates start at $109 per night for standard accommodations.
Leisure Escapes – Includes $50 resort credit per night for use on property for dining, shopping or spa services. From $129 a night. Request rate code RPTVS1.
All-Inclusive Resort Dining Package – Includes breakfast for two (up to $38) and lunch for two (up to $45) at any of the resort’s five restaurants. Rates from $179 per night. Request rate code 2T.
The newly renovated Orchards Inn in Sedona offers spectacular red rock views and has a new eatery, 89Agave Cantina, a Sonoran-style Mexican restaurant and bar area with three outdoor patios. The inn is offering four summer specials:
Hike In Paradise – A two-night stay with two Hike House water bottles, Sedona Trail Guide and a daily Red Rock hiking pass, starting at $186 per night.
Uptown Girls – A two-night stay with $40 dining credit at 89Agave Cantina and a $300 credit at the L’Apothecary Spa at L’Auberge de Sedona, from $336 per night.
Oh the Pawsibilities – a two-night stay in a pet-friendly guest room with Whisker’s Barkery gourmet dog treats, starting at $191 per night
Brews and Dinner with Views – Brews with Views package includes a two-night stay and $30 credit to 89Agave for the cantina or in-room; The Dinner with Views package features a $75 credit to 89Agave for the cantina or in room, starting at $236 per night.
The Ritz-Carlton Dove Mountain
For the perfect getaway, spend the weekend at the luxurious Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain in Marana. Through Sept. 8, the resort is offering a Summer of Adventure package for $199 per night with a $50 resort credit per day. Enjoy a day of golf or tennis, relax at the spa or pool or take a hike and experience stunning mountain views. Ritz Kids program available for children ages 5-12.
Tubac Golf Resort and Spa
Kick back and relax at the Tubac Golf Resort and Spa located in the Santa Cruz River Valley in Southern Arizona and take advantage of their summer specials, all starting at $159 per night with a two-night minimum:
Come Early Stay Late – This two-night special features early check-in at 11 a.m. and late check-out at 2 p.m. Includes welcome margaritas, breakfast for two and 10 percent off golf and spa services.
Stay and Spa – Get a 50-minute massage or aromatherapy facial or manicure and pedicure, use of the fitness center and 10 percent off golf.
